The first time the word glory is used in the bible is Genesis 31:1. It is the story about Jacob taking away the wealth of Laban and his sons are not too happy about it. They say that Jacob is acquiring all Laban's glory. Glory translated here means "wealth". In Exodus 33:17, Moses asks to see the glory of God! He said I will make my goodness pass before you. Friend when the glory of God shows up, you have it all. He is the great I AM. the Alpha and Omega, the first and last. In 2 Chronicles 5:13 it talks about the priests not being able to minister because of the glory cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled the house. You see when God shows up with His glory, He brings everything with Him. His splendor, majesty, power, riches, honor and knowledge. He is all in all. When He shows up, He brings heaven with Him. In paraphrasing Haggai 2:6-8 He says He will shake the nations and He will fill the temple with glory. It is interesting that right after this He says, "That the silver is mine and the gold is mine." He is stating that the wealth of the temple will be greater than the former temple. When Jesus shows up, He is wealthy. It belongs to Him. His presence can be thick like a cloud.
I said all that to tell you that Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Friend, the riches of God come from His glory His riches in glory. God is a good God! He says He will supply your need. Although you must consider your ways according to Haggai 1:5-6 "You have sown much and bring in little. You earn wages to put in a bag with holes." You must seek the kingdom of God first then he will add these things unto you. The kingdom of God here means doing things His way. Have you allowed God to rebuke the devourer for your sake according to Malachi 3:11. God is not going to curse you. The ground where man toils is already under the curse. Genesis, 3:17 states, "Cursed is the ground and you shall toil all the days of your life." As you give your tithe, God lifts that curse for you. This then makes perfect soil for you to sow your seed offerings and reap a harvest. For He supplies seed to the sower to increase the fruits of your righteousness.
A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. (Proverbs 13:22) In James 5:1-4 says, "That the rich will find their gold and silver to be as fire on their flesh." As God shakes the nations these people are going to release their wealth because it is burning their flesh to hang on to it. He says He is going to fill this temple with glory. You know that we are the temples of the Holy Spirit. That wealth is going to be transferred to Christians who are faithful and seeking the kingdom of God. I believe that the Glory is not going to fill a building but it is going to be on Christians. Arise shine for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. People will look at us and see the goodness of God upon us. They shall see His majesty, splendor, power, riches, knowledge and presence as we witness to them of a loving and good God. Many will turn from their wicked ways, entering into eternal life. Praise His name forever more!
